Hello everybody!
On Wednesday, the students, teachers, and parents of the Delbrück public Gymnasium and I came together to spread some good Christmas cheer. And what better way to do so than by singing Christmas songs? Accompanied by Mrs. Querüber on piano, a lucky student beating the „ugly stick“ (try to spot it in the photos), and myself on Bari ukulele, we sang some English Christmas-classics. Classics such as „Up on the Housetop “, „Deck the Halls “, „O Christmas tree“ (an English translation of the German „O Tannenbaum“), Jingle Bells, and „We Wish You a Merry Christmas“. Even the Students in the older grades got up and helped me sing „Jingle-Bell Rock “. And how could I forget lovely performance of the Grade 5 and 6 ensemble directed by Mrs. Querüber, who played „Singen wir im Schein der Kerzen“ und „Zauberflotte“. Finally, as a gift to those who sang along, we all ate lebkuchen and a Canadian treat called Date crumble (recipe is linked down below). Overall, it was a wonderful time, and I hope those who sang along enjoyed themselves as well.

Hallo liebe Leute,
Am Mittwoch kamen die Schüler*innen, Lehrer*innen und Eltern des Städtischen Gymnasium Delbrück und ich zusammen, um die fröhliche Stimmung des Weihnachtens zu verbreiten. Und wie besser könnte man das tun als Weihnachtslieder zu singen? Begleitet von Frau Querüber mit dem Klavier, einer der Schüler*innen, der das „Ugly Stick“ schlug (man kann es in den Photos sehen), und mir mit der Bari Ukulele sangen wir berühmte Englische Weihnachtsklassiker wie „Up on the Housetop “, „Deck the Halls “, die Englische Version des „O Tannenbaum“(O Christmas Tree), „Jingle Bells“, und „We Wish You a Merry Christmas“. Sogar die Oberstufe trat auf die Bühne, um mir zu helfen, „Jingle Bell Rock“ zu singen. Und Ich kann einfach nicht vergessen, die wunderschöne Performance der Unterstufenband, die „Singen wir im Schein der Kerzen“ und die „Zauberflöte“ spielte. Am Ende dieser Veranstaltung gab es ein Geschenk für das großartige Publikum: Lebkuchen und ein leckere kanadische Süßigkeit namens Date Crumble (Sie können das Rezept im Link finden). Insgesamt war es eine schöne Zeit, Weihnacht mit der Gemeinde des GYDs zu feiern, und ich hoffe, es hat dem Publikum auch Spaß gemacht.
